Located on Lushan Mountain of Longkou City Shandong Province, it has attractive natural landscapes and elegant, grand human landscapes. Being the first national Four-A Tourist Area, it consists of Religious Culture Park and Chinese Culture and History Park. The main attractions in the Religious Culture Park are Nanshan Great Buddha, Nanshan Temple, Xiangshui Hut, Lingyuan Hut,Nanshan taoist Hut,etc. Nanshan Great Buddha i.e. the sitting figure of Buddha Sakyamuni, which is made up of 642 blocks of copper and tin composites and 38.66 meters in height and 380 ten in weight. The grand ritual named Kaiguang for Nanshan Great Buddha is conducted on April 18, 2004 (Kaiguang is a ritual to make the ordinary things have meaning of deification). Gongde hall (a hall for diplaying merits and virtues), Wanfo Palace and Buddhism Culture Museu are built under the lotus flower- throne of the Great Buddha. There are 9999 small copper figures of Buddha worshiped in Wanfo Palace. Chinese Culture and History Park is a large scale theme park with an area of 6 square kilometers, its structure is laid out with the historical culture as horizontal line, propitious cultural as vertical line, and architectural complex of various dynasties as carrier. It is the fusion of Chinese historical couture, propitious culture, folk-custom culture, diet culture and town culture and display a general history of Chinese civilizaton.
