Mou Family Manor is living place for generations of Mou Molin’s family, the munber one squire in northern China. In early Ming Dynasty, their grandfather Mou Jingzu came by Xixia city and chose Guzhengdu village to live in.
Mou Family Manor firstly built in the period of Yongzheng of Qing Dynasty and compeleted at 24th year of Republic. Facing south and surrounded by the hills and rivers, the Manor covers an area of over 20 thousand square meters, has 480 rooms and costs more than 430 thousand taels of silver. The Manor has the characteristic of well-set, firm and grand. It is the biggest in scale in northern China, protected best and most typical landlord manor of feudal society. Because of its grand scale and deep culture connotation, it is praised as the ‘living fossil of manor in a century’, ‘treasure of traditional buildings’, and ‘the 600 years accumulation of architectural techniques’. It assimilates the excellent achievements of buildings in Northern China, possessing great art value and abundant cultural and historical connotation.
