Briefing of the Spot:
The precipitous Tianju Mountain towers upward into the misty sky, making its body invisible all the time and presenting a changeable and mysterious view. In the mountain, there is only one path leading to the summit. The path is very narrow, and is adjacent to cliff. When you have reached the summit along the path, you will be fully enlightened by the appearance of smooth grassland which is 5 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide. The grassland has lush greenery and is dotted with wild flowers, giving you a fantastic view. Every summer, herdsmen graze sheep and cattle here. The north of the mountain is overgrown with willow bushes; the south is occupied by groups of pine trees; the southwest mountain meanders endlessly; while in the east stands boundless grassland. In the mountain, if it is cloudy, it will rain, if it is raining, it will finally change into snow. When it is foggy, it will be a totally chaos. When cool autumn approaches, you can see from a long distance the limpid water in the Qinghai Lake. The mountain is a paradise for chamois, wild horses, bears and so on.
The peak of Tianju Mountain has an altitude of more than 4,000 meters. It is situated in the west and faces east. Behind the peak, there interlaced groups of mountains with bald tops. To the south of the main peak, there stand hundreds of hills and stone forests, most of which are dark grey, dotted by those which dark red, grey and white. Beside the stone forest, there is a precipice which is more than 30 meters high. In the precipice, there are many stone holes, while under it; there is a piece of green grass shoal with several pink rocks varying in size and appearance. Tianju Mountain is also a paradise animals, it is inhabited by leopards, deer, river deer, bharals, foxes and hares. It is the gateway to and showcase of Qaidam Basin
