Because three sides of the land are surrounded by Yellow River’s branches, and there is a statue of Zhaojun holding a pipa in his arms, therefore, this area got a name Zhaojun Island. There are 25 kinds of plants growing on the land or in the desert and 25 sorts of birds living here. The island has a very beautiful environment, where tourists can a view of the great Yellow River in the south while standing the Sightseeing Tower. In the north part of the island lie large areas of reed marshes, little like regions of rivers and lakes. A Mongolian restaurant on the island not only provides food of Mongolian flavor, but also serving fresh Yellow River Carp.
