A brief intro to the tourist attraction
The North Temple, historically called “Evangelical Temple” is locally called “North Temple”. The temple was built in the ninth year of Jiaqin, Qing Dynasty (1804) after the son of King of Alashan converted to 6th Bainqen with the original name of “Zhunheide”. In the eleventh year of Jiaqin(1806), the fifth king of Alashan Mahabala reported its completion to Lifan ministry. The emperor Jiaqin entitled it”. From then on, it was well-known as Evangelical Temple throughout the world. The surging hills around the temple, the winding of mountain springs, the ever-green pine trees, the flourishing grass and wood, the chirping of birds and fragrance of flowers and the charming sceneries all make you feel as if you were on an imaginary land as you enjoy them. The most prestigious cultural celebrity in history of the North Temple is Awangdandeer, who is not only the pride of the North Temple, but the great son to be proud of in Alashan League. He is the cultural giant in Alashan history and is a generation of great scholar who made great achievement and contribution to Mongolia and Tibetan ethnic culture. In his lifetime, Awangdandeer had written over 40 works in Mongonlia and Tibertan language. His masterpieces are well-know both home and overseas. He is publicly recognized as an outstanding Mongolia and Tibetan grammatical scholar, religious philosopher, poet and translator who excels Badida of India. His immortal works will undoubtedly become a treasure cherished in the flowerbed of Chinese ancient ethnical culture.
