Peach Blossom Land is the fairyland described by Tao Yuanming, the famous poet in Eastern Jin Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1600 years, with beautiful mountains, fields, temples, poetry, as well wonderful legends. It is highly valuable on tourism, history, culture and arts.
Peach Blossom Land is at the center of Mount Heng, Mount Jun, Mount Yuelu, Zhangjiajie, Mengdong River. The unique geographical location adds to Peach Blossom Land the beauty of Dongting Lake, the elegance of Western Hunan, the special scenery of rivers and the sight of Wuling.
Peach Blossom Land is the provincial-level key protection unit, one of the top ten scenic spots in Hunan Province, the national forest park and national-level scenic spot. The main body of Peach Blossom Land covers an area of 15.8 square kilometers; Wuling Fishing Land, Yuan River scenic area covers an area of 44.85 square meters; the outer protection area covers an area of 96.9 square meters. The main body includes Taohua Mountain, Taoyuan Mountain, Qinren Village (the village of People from Qin Dynasty), Taoxian Mountain. In a word, it has mysterious cultural sights, rich natural sights, delicate inside sceneries and grand outer sceneries.
Peach Blossom Land is one of the sacred places of Daoism in ancient China. In history, many literators visited here, such as Tao Yuanming, Meng Haoran, Wang Changling, Wang Wei, Li Bai, Du Mu, Liu Yuxi, Han Yu, Lu You, Shu Shi, etc, who has left their works there.
Peach Blossom Land has near 100 spots and four great scenic area including Taoxian Mountain, Taoyun Mountain, Taohua Mountain and Qinren Village. The garden party of Peach Blossom land is held once in a year and is one important activity of the festivals of Hunan Province.
