The Changchun Taoist Temple was originally built in the Yuan dynasty. It was against the mountain. Most of main buildings in the temple are made of brick and wood, with upturned eaves and pointed arches. There are many fine and lifelike sculptures on the girders, railings and tabernacles in the temple. It has a typical characteristic of Taoist architecture of Hubei. When the Changjiang River Bridge was built in 1995, the Reclining Image of Lv Dongbin located in the Lvzhu Temple and “Five Hundred Gods” were moved here from the site of the Yellow Crane Tower. The Changchun Taoist Temple was greatly enriched in collection. Many of the religious relics here were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. In recent years, many new halls have been added to enhance the religious value of the Temple.
