The South Lake Park is built on the former Yangzhuang Colliery, which was already subsided. The water surface covers an area of 2.1 square kilometers, which was formed after subsiding. South Lake Wetland Park was approved to be a national wetland park by the Ministry of Construction in 2005. And it also one of the three largest project in Huaibei.
It has pleasant environment and fine water. In the scenic area, tourists can enjoy the scenery of the lake and islands. It has water-skiing place, ring lake road, hotels, Taishan Temple, Park Square and other places of interesting. There are many kinds of water plants, birds, fishes, amphibious animal and wet land beasts living here, which form a complete ecosystem.
There are hotels, entertainment facilities and a temple at the southern lakeside. The roads construction, illumination and tree planting projects are nearly completed now.
