A brief introduction to the scenery:
Yinzhou West Lake is the place where the ancient Yin River, Qing River, Xiaoru River and White Dragon Channel connect. Because Fuyang was also named as Yinzhou after the North Wei Dynasty, the lake was also renamed as Yinzhou West Lake. The lake became place of interest in Tang Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. Later floods from Yellow River took over the lake and made the ever beautiful scenes disappear.
The new west lake lies in 15 miles west of Fuyang city. The lake is 11.5 miles perimeter, 5.74 square kilometers and 1 to 2 meters deep. The lake was rebuilt on the original Thirty Miles River. There are islets in the lake, deep pools in the islet. Green willows are all over the bank. Flowers are on both sides of the road.
The willows and the flowers interlock with each other. There are the main scenes such as Beilin Park, in which Beilin long galley is built; Beilin Eight Diagrams, which are a gathering of more than five hundred contemporary calligraphers’ authentic work; stone sculptures such as Hundred Dragon Pavillion, Eight celestial beings, twelve Shengxiao (twelve animals used to label the twelve years in circle by Chinese ), which is vivid and lovely; Purple Bamboo Courtyard, where there are manmade hills and swimming pools; Yinxian Hall, which is an instrument for music to make people feel as if in a fairyland; there is yachts and tigers, which are attractive; places for admiring Ou Yangxiu and Shushi, who are famous scholar in Chinese history; Qinglian Pavilion, which is a five stories building in ancient style; Jiuqu Bridge, the name of which is related to Yinzhou West Lake’s first Pinyin; Yugong is made of two carp pools with modern electric engines.
