Chungju (www.chungju.chungbuk.kr) is the gateway to the Chungjuho (Chungju Lake) ferries, Woraksan National Park and Suanbo Hot Springs. Every autumn the World Martial Arts Festival hits town.
A tourist information centre (850 7329; 9am-6pm) is located inside the bus terminal.
