Springwood

Springwood in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales is 371 metres above sea level. This location was named by Governor Macquarie in 1815, while he and his wife were travelling over the mountains to Bathurst. It was so called because of ‘a very pretty wooded plain near a spring of very good fresh water’.
