Built on Xiangshan Hill by the Xiangjiang River in the heart of Zunyi, this Ming -dynasty temple became a Buddhist centre of North Guizhou. The temple consists of the Grand Daxiong Hall, Tianwang (King of the Heaven) Hall, Kwan-yin (Avalokiteshvara) Hall, Scriptures-storing House etc. Its Grand Daxiong Hall houses a statue of Sakyamuni flanked by statues of 18 arhats. Behind this hall is the Goddess of Mercy Haii and nearby are the monks’ living quarters. The River View 1 of these Tower just below the temple offers a panoramic view of the surrounding green hills and Xiangjiang River.
