Located on Hongqi Road in the old section of Zunyi, this is a two-storey wood and brick building of combined Chinese and Western architectural styles. In January 935, the Red Army arrived in Zunyi on their historic Long March and held a meeting of great significance there. The Zunyi Meeting was an enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee during the Long March. It focused on discussing and rectifying the errors in military affairs. Here, at the meeting, the wise leader of the Chinese revolution (Mao Zedong) had been elected and he began to lead the red army to fight against those reactionaries and brought the whole country to the final liberation eventually. Listed as a major cultural relic site under state protection, the building now houses the Zunyi Meeting Memorial Museum. The slogans written at the time have been preserved.
