Tashan Mountain is famous for a pagoda built on its highest peak in Song and Yuan Dynasties. With Dai Mountain in the east and Nanshan Mountain in the west, it looks like a natural hedge encircling the prosperous urban area. The scenic area is divided into Taiping Hut Tourist Area and Modern Amusement Area including over 30 spots in total. Taiping Hut Tourist Area consists of many cultural and natural landscapes: Taiping Hut, Sanhe Tower, Dragon King Hall, Taiping Morning Bell Tower, Guanyin Pavilion, Yunshi Valley, Guanyin Peak, etc. As the central spots, both Taiping Hut and Sanhe Tower have long history. The founders of ‘Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism’ have been enshrined and worshipped in Taiping Hut what is exceedingly rare. With beautiful and misty scenery, Sanhe Tower is beautiful and primitive simple in sculpt. It is the landmark architecture of Yantai city. Overlooking and looking far ahead on the tower, tourists can enjoy the panoramic view of the flourishing city streetscape and elegant beach landscape at one glimpse. Modern Amusement Area consists of the Athletics Mansion with peculiar style and grand European-style gate, tropic rain forest park with southland tinge, artificial wooden sculpture named ‘uphold’ based on environment protection, the national defence education institution providing recreational ball firing, special sideway for experiencing fun of Nap-of-the-Earth, playground for child, village for animals and marvelous waterfall, etc.
