The Ruins of Xuanquan Post is located 64 kilometers east of the urban area of Dunhuang City. From 1990 to 1992, the archeologists of the province excavated 17650 relics including 15000 precious Wood slips of Han Dynasty, abundant fur, silk, paper from this site. The foundings are recognized as the fifth discovery of this century in literary filed.

Other items unearthed from Xuanquan Ruins include farm tools, hunting equipments, money and weapons, potteries, clothing, grain, writing brushes and ink-stones. All of these items have been well preserved. The silk manuscripts are readable; lacquer chopsticks keeps the same as what they were. A few pairs of shoes can be dated back to thousands of years ago. On the unpaved enclosure are rescripts of the emperor and medicine prescriptions written in ink, known as today’s shocking discovery of archaeological circle.

These artifacts relics have provided a new, rich and solid raw data for archaeological researches.
