Olive Dam, being the fourth biggest dam of the 23 dams in Xishuangbanna, takes on great southern landscapes of the tropical zone with the area of 50 square kilometers, a field of 8000 Mu, (Mu is a measure unit used in China – 1 acre equals 6.7 Mu ) the elevation is 530 meters and 477 meter at the entrance of the river, with low terrain and moist climate. The Lancang River flows into the dam. With the elevation of 530 meters, the olive dam is the lowest place of Xishuangbanna with the hottest climate which brings in various tropical fruits like coconut, areca, banana, mango, litchi, carambola, pineapple honey, etc, as well as great amount of candied fruit which can be seen everywhere in Olive Dam.
