Green Lake Park, locate in the centre of Kunming, consists of Harbour Pavilion, Moon Water pavilion, Guan Yu House and some gloriettes together with the lake.
The Green Lake Park was only a small sinus in Dianchi Lake at the very beginning, while it became what it is now after the lowering of water level. There, the water sparkles in the sunlight, and environment is beautiful very much. It seems to be the precious emerald in Kunming, and it is well known as “the Jade Flower Bowlder of the city”.
Moon Water Pavilion and Golden fish Island are on the southeast of the lake, and on the northeast are Bamboo Island and Jiulong Chi. Huludao and Jiuqu Qiao lie on the south, and Harbour Pavilion lies on the west. The lake is designed logically and novelly.
Every year, from October to next February, there will be thousands of black-headed gulls here gamboling with tourists. They splash in the water and feed their younger generations, adding unlimited interests and vitality to the lake. Here, tourists can experience perfect harmony between man and nature.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

The World Horticulture Expo Garden is 218 hectares in area, 2.5 km in length, and 1.1 km in width. In the garden you can find 5 big exhibition halls (China Hall, the Man and Nature Hall, the Green House, the Science and Technology Hall, and the International Hall), 6 theme gardens (the Tree Garden, the Tea Garden, the Bonsai Garden, the Medicinal Herb Garden, the Bamboo Garden, and the Vegetable and Fruit Garden), 3 outdoor showplaces (the International Outdoor Exhibition Area, the Domestic Outdoor Exhibition Area, and the Exhibition Area for Enterprises), and 2 big squares (Century Plaza, and the Performance Plaza).
The theme of this exposition garden is “Man and Nature, marching into the 21st century”. The 34 Domestic Outdoor Exhibition Area is spacious and magnificent, including the gardens of the 31 provinces in China, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administration Regions and Taiwan. There are two green belts running from south to north symbolizing the Yangtze River and the Yellow River (Huang He). The gardens of the provinces not only display the natural beauty, but also the local culture, religion and constructions of various places. Some typical gardens are the graceful Wanchun Garden (Beijing), the elegant Xiaoxiang Garden (Hunan Province), the modern Bio Garden (Fujian Province), the special Ningchun Garden (Ningxia) and the delicate Shanshui Garden (Guangxi, Shanshui means water and mountains).
The International Outdoor Exposition Garden is a great place for people to enjoy the traditional culture of ancient Asian gardens, the ocean culture of European gardens, the harmonious and straightforward immigrant culture and primitive culture in the American garden and the Australian-flavored Oceania Garden.
Sanchahe Nature Reserve Aerial Walkway

China’s Sanchahe Nature Reserve in Mengla County, Yunnan Province, is located in a tropical rain forest corridor that stretches from China into neighboring Burma and Laos. Sanchahe Nature Reserve is famous for its biodiversity and undisturbed habitats for both animals and plants. To better facilitate the scientific study of these habitats and to provide sustainable access to tourists without unduly interrupting the activity of the animals (interrupting the wild elephants can in fact be life-threatening, so one is advised never to attempt to approach these shy animals) or trampling the flora under foot, a 2½-kilometer-long aerial walkway was constructed with the help of a $300,000 grant from a U.S. wildlife organization.

The aerial walkway was an integral part of the eco-tourism plans of Sanchahe Nature Reserve, as it was felt that providing visitors an open-air museum, as it were, helps to raise awareness of the plight of the tropical rain forest (there are a number of rare tropical plants here which scientists believe may hold the key to the cure of known as well as yet-to-be-known diseases) on the one hand, and, on the other hand, provides income to the local population, thus obviating the need to exploit the rain forest for the purpose of a livelihood, which exploitation could very well result in the irrevocable loss to mankind of potentially beneficial, medicinal plants.

The walkway, or footbridge, is suspended between a series of very straight and very tall (up to 80 meters high) indigenous trees, the Parashorea chinensis* (aka “the giant of the rain forest”), by means of steel cables onto which are attached the ropes which support the walkway itself. Below one may be lucky enough to spot any of a number of endangered animal species such as the golden monkey or the wild peacock or – if one is very, very lucky – a flock of wild elephants, though these tend to be quite shy, as indicated.

For those who wish to overnight in Sanchahe Nature Reserve a tourist villa in the shape of a bird’s nest can be rented for the night. There is also an elephant show at Sanchahe that will delight anyone who enjoys watching these amazingly quick-learning, intelligent animals perform.

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

* This tree is called the Wang Hsie Tian, or simply Wang Hsie, after the botanist who identified it in 1992 (aka the “species authority”), but the tree is better known in Sanchahe Nature Reserve by its pictoresque monikers, the “looking-up-to-the-sky tree” and the “cloud-kissing tree” (a tree’s equivalent of “sky scraper”?). Prince Philip, President Emeritus of the World Wildlife Fund, paid a visit to Xishuangbanna in 1986, where he planted a specimen of the Wang Hsie Tian. The tree’s botanical name is, as indicated, Parashorea chinensis (or simply Shorea chinesis), but it is sometimes referred to as Shorea wangtianshuea, in deference to its identifying authority.

Daju town is a Naxi ancient town lying in the north of Yulong Autonomous County. In the southern part of the town, there is a square-shape Square, which leads you to the famous bazaar – Sifang Street. In the bazaar, you will have the chance to perceive the “Square Bazaar” characteristic of the Naxi minority for its unique styles of bazaar and architecture.

With a forest coverage rate of 51.8%, Daju town is bound to be the destination for those tourists who are fascinated with greenery, those who enjoy crisp air, and those in love with nature. For those who are fond of exploring, this out-of-the-way town can also be the right place. No wonder Daju town is the very place which will make domestic tourists enjoy at ease, and foreign guests feel like home.

Imagine when you run into a meadow in the sunset, and the breeze is nudging your cheeks, you can catch a glimpse of the cattle, and the quietness, the lovely scenery is exactly what you desire for. As you walk on, you may see the local women doing their laundry along the river bank, but that’s not all, the limpid stream would make you think of purified water, and as the rhythm of the running-river is becoming dim, you could be at the foot of the mysterious mountain…
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

There are a lot of legends about golden horse and jade cock. Some people say that the golden horse is the embodiment of the fine horse in Dianchi Lake, and the jade cock is the embodiment of a peacock. Other people say the golden horse is the totem of the bronze which is rich in Yunnan, and the jade cock is the spiritual symbol of jade. Still others think that golden horse refers to the steep Golden Horse (Jinma) Mountain in East Kunming, and Jade Cock is the winding and exquisite Jade Cock (Biji) Mountain in the West.
A more widely believed legend goes that the golden horse and the jade cock are the gods of the sun and the moon. When the sun rises, the glittering Golden Horse looks like a galloping horse. When the sun sets, the misty Jade Cock looks like a dancing peacock.
The archways of Golden Horse and Jade Cock were built on an east-west axis, not far from each other. At 5 or 6 p.m. on the day when Autumn Equinox (September 22, 23 or 24 of the Gregorian calendar) and the Mid-Autumn Festival (August 15 of the lunar calendar) of the year of cock (you year. There are 12 symbolic animals associated with a 12-year cycle, often used to donate the year of a person’s birth. One of the animals is cock) happened to be the same day (it happened once every 60 years), when the sun has set and the moon is rising, the shadow of sunshine on Golden Cock becomes longer gradually and the shadow of moonlight on the Jade Cock becomes clearer [Traditional Chinese calendar calculated the passage of years, months, days and hours by combining one Heavenly Stem (tian gan in Chinese. The 10 Heavenly Stems are jia, yi, bing, ding, wu, ji, geng, xin, ren and gui) and one Earthly Branch (di zhi in Chinese. The 12 Earthly Branches are zi, chou, yin, mao, chen, si, wu, wei, shen, you, xu and hai) to form 60 unique pairs in a complete cycle. In the lunar calendar in use today, only years and days are in such cyclic pairings]. Then the shadows of Golden Cock and Jade Cock draw near bit by bit and finally become one shadow. That is the splendid scene of the overlapping shadow of Golden Horse and Jade Cock.
It is said that the phenomenon of the overlapping shadow of Golden Horse and Jade Cock appeared during the reign of Emperor Daoguang (1821-1851). Once during the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1875-1909), the shadows of Golden Horse and Jade Cock nearly overlapped but disappeared when they were only several steps apart because the two archways were not rebuilt strictly according to the original size after being destructed during war. The present archways of Golden Horse and Jade Cock were rebuilt in the 1960s strictly according to the original size. It is hopeful that the spectacle of Overlapping Shadow of Golden Horse and Jade Cock will appear some day in the future.
The archways of Golden Horse and Jade Cock have long been the symbol of Kunming. People refer to Yunnan as the homeland of Golden Horse and Jade Cock, which are the pattern for the city emblem.
Nature Reserve occupies a total area of 840 kilometers with the Bitahai Lake as the center of this scenic spot. Being in the subtropical zone, Bitahai Lake is a fault lake with 3 kilometers in length and 1kilometers in width. It is rich in wild animals and plants. The vegetation is characterized by abies -fabri and spruce. Among the rare animals and birds, black -necked cranes are Class-A species under state protection. The Bitahai Lake has abundant fish resources. The precious “Bita Double-Lip Fish” is an ancient species left from the Fourth Glacial Age.

Bita” means in Tibetan a place with a dense oak forest and “Bitahai” means a quiet lake. The Bitahai Lake is surrounded by mountains covered with ancient pines, oaks and rhododendrons, like an emerald in the heart of the mountain. In the morning, water is as black as Chinese ink, as peaks are all mirrored in the lake; On the noon, water is as green as a jade; In the evening, the water and the sky blend into one color, giving a dazzling light. The most breathtaking view of the lake is in the moonlight. When the day draws to a close, a bright full moon arises above the eastern mountains and over the top of the trees. From the small cottage of the forest ranger comes the sound of joyous singing and dancing. Weekend visitors are enjoying the most memorable and grand spectacle in their lives

One of the distinctive biological characters of the lake is a small wooded island in the center of the lake and some boats can ferry tourists there, and on the island grow dense spruce, abies-fabri and azalea woods. All of the green grasses, zigzags, singing birds and fragrant flowers make you feel that you are in a fairy world. Right around the lake there is a dense azalea forest, whose flowers are often in full bloom. In the fifth month of the Chinese lunar year tourists can see a peculiar sight-the fallen azalea flowers afloat on the water, while the fish amuse themselves in the shallow water of the lake, swallowing the fallen azalea flowers. The fallen flowers are little poisonous, and will cause them to appear “drunk” as they float on the surface of the lake, so it is called ” Fish Drunk by Azalea.
In later spring and early summer, wild flowers bloom profusely in the meadows, the glorious colors shine like twinkle stars in a sky of fresh green grass; In the depth of winter, flocks of cows, horses and sheep sport in the meadows, immersing in joy. The Bitahai Lake is encircled by virgin forests. Black bears, brown bears, monkeys, parrots and lynxes, clouded leopards, buffaloes, squirrels also can be found in the forest.
Nanzhao Dehua Stele lies in a Tang-architecture-imitated gloriette in the Taihe Castle. The stele is 4.02 meter high, 2.27meter wide and 0.60 meter thick. There are totally 5,100 Chinese characters carved on both sides of the stele, 3,800 on the front side and 1,300 on the back side. It was built in the Tang dynasty in AD 766, with the articles written by the ancient official of Nanzhao Zhenghui and carved by the ancient official of Tang Du guangting. The articles aimed to eulogize the achievements of the King of Nanzhao, emphasize the details of the intercommunication between Nanzhao and Tang and express Nan Zhao’s good wishes to Tang dynasty.
Nanzhao Dehua Stele maintained not only articles with elegant diction, clear structure and full and accurate facts, but the fluent, forceful and unrestrained handwriting. Together with the delicate carving, the stele is a fine works of stele in the Tang dynasty. It is a stele with important history and value that saw the ethnic unity and friendliness and provided precious materials to study the history of Nanzhao and Tufan (Tibet). On the top of the Maxiong Mountain there is a compass at the source of the Zhujiang River. On the compass are the Eight Diagrams which is natural and has 28 circles. The compass is 0.2 meters thick and has a diameter of 2 meters. It weighs as heavy as 4,000 kilograms and can rank the first among all the compasses in the world. On the compass are the 12 Chinese Zodiac, the cycle of sixty years, the Kwan-yin Lots, and the 12 constellations.
