Mt. Baxian National Nature Reserve is famous for its continuous ridges and peaks, boundless forest, deep gullies and running ghyll. Its variety of animals and plants give the Reserve the reputation as the Green Kingdom.

Thirty-five kilometers to the northeast of the county seat and covering 5,360 hectares, the forest reserve is also the gathering place for high mountains and peaks, with 19 peaks rising over 900 meters above sea level. The highest peak, also known as Cricket Cage, is the highest in Tianjin at 1046.8 meters.

With over 95 percent of its area covered by trees, the forest is rare for North China. Scientists believe that Baxian National Nature Reserve is the Xishuang Banna in Tianjin. Legend has it that eight fairies once passed this thickly wooded mountain and were attracted by its beautiful landscape. They stopped for a drink by a rock. This rock came to be called “”Baxian Table”” and the mountain became known as Mt. Baxian (Eight Fairies).
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

The Nine Dragons Mountain Forest Park occupies 2,126 hectares of land and three scenic areas: Nine Dragons Mountain, Lihu Tai Mountain, and Huanghua Ling Mountain. The area was once the royal garden of the Daoguang and the Tongzhi emperors during the Qing Dynasty. In the northeast portion of the park are nine continuous ridges, similar in appearance to nine gathering dragons, aptly named Nine Dragon Mountain.

The park sits like a basin surrounded by mountain groups. With ancient caves, a quiet forest, astonishing peaks and excellent water, the park has become a special forest tourism area in eastern Beijing. There are 147 peaks inside the park, and the highest, Lihua Tai Mountain, reaches 997 meters. Above the highest peak of Mt. Nine Dragon, Huanghua Ling, which is 558.4 meters, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Panshan Mountain to the west, the Royal Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty to the east, Cuiping Lake to the south, and Jiuding Mountain, Ancient Great Wall and Eight-Fairy Mountain to the north, all contributing to the glory and gracefulness of the scenery.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

At Water Park Road in Nankai District, the Water Park is 164.6 hectares in area, 100 hectares of which are covered by water. Opened in 1951, the park has developed into a large, comprehensive attraction, with areas to the north and south separated by the vast expanse of water in the middle. In the water are 11 isles linked by bridges. The water is divided into the East Lake, the West Lake, and the South Lake. Visitors enjoy boating on the lakes. A long corridor winds its way from the east gate of the park to the Children’s Amusement Park, equipped with a mini-train and a merry-go-round. A walk along the bank planted with peach trees and willows leads to the Culture Corner, with an alfresco theatre, a reading room, a swimming pool, a skating rink, and waterside pavilions.

Another attraction is the Ten Thousand Buddha Island, with 36 spots that illustrate the Buddhist world view through the reconstruction of scenes from Buddhist stories.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

In ancient times, North Canal was called the Imperial River, and is an important river in Tianjin. The North Canal consists of four theme parks: Luanshui Park, North Ocean Park, Imperial River Park, and Entertaining Park. The green trees, clean rivers, quiet surroundings, and wonderful flowers all contribute to the magnificent scenery.

Various water culture exhibitions sit along the bank of the North Canal. Enjoy the giant group carvings of historic persons associated with water conservancy, as well as other sculptures reflecting China’s culture related to water. The only tower in the world surrounded by water, Tianta stands in the jade-green waves of Tianta Lake and high up in the clouds. It is one of the ten attractions in Tianjin and has a beautiful name, Tianta Floating Clouds.

Seen from a distance, the tower pierces the sky from a mirror-smooth lake. Moreover, Tianta is a TV and radio station, and a wonderful place where people can enjoy beautiful views and entertainment. A revolving restaurant in the shape of a flying saucer 248.5 to 278 meter high (seven stories) serves 200 people at once. It takes 45 to 60 minutes to make one revolution. While dining here, one enjoys a bird’s-eye view of the magnificent metropolis of Tianjin.

Oyster beaches are made up of remnants of oysters dated 5,800 to 2,200 years ago. The largest oyster beach is in the riverway between Shizhuang Zi and Jiangzhuang Zi, in Dongji Town in the western part of Ninghe County. It occupies 73 hectares. The thickest oyster beach is in Fei Zhuang near Jingshan Railway in eastern Ninghe County. Here, the layer of oyster shells is about five meters thick, and oyster shells account for more than 90% of these remnants. The diameter of the largest oyster shell, which is related to the rate of growth of the oyster, can reach 50 cm, while the smallest may be several centimeters.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

Tianzun Pavilion, consisting of Hill Gate, Pei Palace, and Gai Attic, was once a Taoist place of worship of the Taoism God and Goddess, and the Crape Myrtle Emperor. It is also called Taiyi Temple.

The three-story, 17.4 meter Tianzun Pavilion was built on a grand, high brick-and-stone stage. The first floor is Tianzun Attic. The second floor is the palace of the Queen Mother of the Western Heaven, and the top floor is the Crape Myrtle Emperor Palace. The pavilion’s structure is complicated. The top is covered with black tiles shaped as ridges. Inside the pavilion are eight pillars supporting it from the ground to the top, and each floor holds eaves pillars, hill pillars, and corridor pillars. The pillars link together with the coves, tenons, crossbeams, carlings, and floors. The design of the pavilion is also elaborated and elegant. Under every eave and above every wood pillar are various coves used as decoration. The central ridges are engraved with two playing pearls dragons. The lines are fine and elaborated. Next to the ridges are exquisitely carved beasts, as natural as if they were alive. Under the eaves of each floor hangs a large iron bell, the sound of which can be heard miles away with a fanning breeze.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

Located 12 kilometers northwest of Jixian and about 100 kilometers from the city centre of Tianjin, Mt. Panshan is covered with exuberant forests and rich in historical and scenic spots. It has been recognized as one of the 15 greatest scenic spots of China and known as “”The First Mountain East of Beijing””. Mount Panshan is on the edge of the North China Plain. Less than a thousand meters above sea level, the granite peaks rise abruptly, featured by the many sheer precipices and grotesquely shaped rocks and boulders. Its main peak, Guayue (Moon Hanging) Peak, though only 864 meters above sea level, rises precipitously, which makes it look impressively tall. From the summit tourists can view the Great Wall to the north and the Taihang Mountains to the west. Six streams running in the valleys around Mount Panshan flow to the surrounding plains. The scenery along the banks of the streams is very beautiful. For instance, a stream on the south side is flanked with green trees and there are many rocks of various shapes and sizes in the valley. In the central Panshan area, there is a stone bridge, on which many tourists like to sit to listen to the splashing of the stream against the rocks.

At the foot of Mount Panshan, there is a colorfully painted arch bearing the inscription, “”The First Mountain East of Beijing””. Under the arch are stalls selling fruits and local products.

Passing through the gate leading to the mountain, a giant rock can be seen, which carved with two characters that can best be translated as “”unsurpassed””, reputed to be the writing of a high-ranking official of the late Qing Dynasty. It is said that Mount Panshan is noted for its beautiful natural scenery of pine trees, boulders and waters in a mountain setting.

Among the more than 320 kinds of trees and shrubs found in the vicinity, pines are the most numerous. There are vast dense stretches of old pine trees around the Wansong (Ten Thousand-Pine) Temple and the Songshu (Pine Tree) Ridge. The pine trees here have wistfully bent trunks and coiled branches. This is because they grow on slopes with a thin and poor layer of soil. In spite of these austere condition, coupled with the harsh climate characterized by strong winds and frost and snow, these pine trees indomitably adapt themselves to the circumstances by growing close to the ground and stretching their branches horizontally to reduce the pressure of the strong winds and to avoid rubbing against each other. This accounts for the different shapes of the trees and those of the same species growing on plains.

The key points of interest in Panshan Scenery Area consist of Five Peaks, Eight Stones, Seventy-two Buddha Temples, and Thirteen Exquisite Pagodas. Five Peaks refers to the highest peak in the mountain range, Guayue Peak surrounded by Zigai Peak, Zilai Peak, Jiuhua Peak and Wujian Peak, so it’s also called Eatern Wutai Mountain. The wonderful stones with different shapes spread all over the Panshan Mountain like stars and chess pieces, here and there, especially the Eight Stones, which could easily attract your eyeballs. Historically speaking, there are Seventy-two Buddha Temples, and Thirteen Exquisite Pagodas in Panshan Mountain during the silver age of Qing Dynasty, which totally duplicated Chengde Imperial Summer Resort. It is the third largest royal garden after Chengde Imperial Summer Resort and Yuan Ming Yuan Imperial Garden. However, during the end of Qing Dynasty, after the war shower, most of them were disappeared. Fortunately, Tiancheng Temple, Wansong Temple and Yunzhao Temple are still well preserved, which are must for tourists.

Scenery in Panshan Mountain Scenery Area differs from season to season. Glorious flowers in spring, unlimited green in summer, marvelous leaves in autumn, jade green and white snow in winter, which are all so impressive and wonderful that no wonder Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty sign with regret, if I had knew there is a Panshan Mountain near Beijing earlier, there would be no need to travel so far to Jiangnan (south eastern China, which is famous for the beautiful water scenery).
