The Qilian Mountain is at an altitude between 4000 and 5000 meters above the sea level in average. The long and wide ice glacier terrain feature formed by the accumulated snow of the mountain is spectacular. Places above the altitude of 4000 meters are called the snow line and in general, only ice and snow could be found there and there is nothing of lives. However, above the snow line of Qilian Mountain, there are usually reverse bio-spectacle. In the shallow snow, there is snow-mountain meadow plant named Canzhui in the shape of mushroom. Moreover, there are precious herbals: High-mountain Snow Lotus, and one kind of snow grass that grows under wind-erosive rocks. Therefore, snow lotus, Canzhui and snow grass are called “the three friends of the winter” above the snow line of Qilian Mountain. The four seasons of Qilian Mountain is not distinct. The spring and summer here are not typical at all. The so-called “it snows in June in Qilian Mountain” is the portrayal of the climates and natural landscapes of Qilian Mountain.
The sights of the virgin forest scenic spot in Qilian Mountain are more charming. In summer, the green sea stretch beyond the horizon in the forest. In the virgin forest area of Qilian Mountain, there are 157,000 hectare (more than 2,000,000 cubic meters) forest resources. It is a large forest area of Qinghai Province. There are trees like spruces, Sabina chinensis, poplars and bushes like hippophae rhamnoides and hawkweeds. Besides, in the thick forest and the snow mountains of Qilian Mountain, there are a lot of loafing crowds of deer running and wandering around. The atmosphere here is wild and the environment is graceful.
On the west side of the county seat of Haiyan County of Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, there is the relic of an ancient city, which enjoyed long history and large scale. That is the seat where Xihai Prefecture lied in Han Dynasty. The ancient city is located on luxuriant Jintan and Yintan Grassland, which is on the northeastern side of Qinghai Lake. The ancient city is close to the northern bank of Maxu River and embraced by mountains from south and north. On the east and west, there is the open prairie, which enjoys strategic importance in terrains. The city shows a shape of a square. It is 650 meters long from the east to the west and 600 meters wide from the north to the south. The preserved city wall is 4 meters high and the base of the wall is 10 meters wide. There are four city gates, each one in each direction. The gate is in the centre of the rampart. The relics of the architectures on the central axes of the city could still be seen.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

Profile
Its vulgar name is Jiana Mani with the attitude of 3600meters. Jiana Mani Stones Piles was made by the eminent monk Jiana Daodingsangqiubouyong (also named the Living Buddha) in more than 1700AD years ago. According to the history records, Jiana the Living Buddha was from Kangba and once practiced Buddhism in Mt. Ermei and Mt. Wutai and later traveled around and worship at each shrines in Tibet. About 200 years ago, when he went to Xinzhai Village, he found a mani stone representing the Six-word Buddhist Sutra by itself. Therefore, he lived in this village and spent his rest life caving the mani stones with other monks and the local people. In the early period of China’s Liberation, the Mani stones have formed a large scale of Mani Stones Piles with the length of 450 meters from east to west, 100 meters wide from south to north and 3 meters high. There are also some buildings like the Buddhist Hall (family hall for worshipping Buddha), Pagoda and Great Stupas so on. It covers an area of 25 Mu (a traditional unit of area, equal to 0.165 acre) and has about 2.5 billons Mani stones and Jingwen stones (stones caved with Buddhist scriptures). According to the Buddhist scripture Mani means the Six-word Buddhist Sutra of Goddess of Mercy and the six-Syllable charm means to ferry all the living creatures beyond the sea of mortality to nirvana, to get rid of the six great klesha( passions or distresses, they are the desire, resentment, ignorance, pride, doubt, wrong view), practice the six austerities, gain the kind of Buddhist virtues and acquire the six kinds of wisdom. To read it often will help you do some charitable deeds to all the living creatures and make great contributions to mankind. Therefore, every year on the January 15th many people will come here and worship.
The stone forest is called the Foye Cliff by the local residents, and it is formed mainly with granites and granophyres. There is a lot of fun to visit the stone forest in mid-summer. You would find yourself in the heaven with the odd mountains, strange rocks, green pines and sea of clouds all around you. Clouds of rocks pose vividly in a wide variety in the sunshine. The Qilian stone forest is also known as “conglomerate stone forest”. When the body of the conglomerate mountain slides because of rain and some other external forces, the adhesive slurry in the conglomerate glues the conglomerate together to form fantastic landscapes. You can deeply feel the uncanny workmanship in the stone forest scene spot. It is told by the local Tibetan residents that the Qilian stone forest is 108 statues of Buddha, and pious Buddhists can still see 108 statues here, which equals to the number of the prayer beads in the Tibetan’s hands. Herdsmen passing by the stone forest will get down from their horses, kowtow, worship and sacrifice hada (a long piece of silk used as a greeting gift between the Tibetan and Mongolian Nationalities) to pray for the blessing of the God.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

Wujiang River, zigzagging for more than 1,000 kilometers, is the biggest anabranch of the upper reaches of Changjiang River. Yanhe County boasts its more-than-100-kilometer-long gorges along Wujiang River.
Gorges along Wujiang River:
Jiashi Gorge: With high mountains standing erect, winds blowing hard, and waters billowing, Jiashi Gorge tops others by having the most scenic spots.
Yintong Gorge: Yingtong Gorge is zigzagging like a perplexing labyrinth.
Tutuo Gorge: High mountains and deep waters characterize Tutuo Gorge. On the high and precipitous mountains along the river grow numerous bamboos and age-old trees, where animals are chasing and birds are singing. What is most interesting is, when your boat or ship is sailing along the gorge, you may be lucky enough to see groups of monkeys climbing rattans, playing with water, scratching their heads and cheeks, or even throwing small stones to frighten tourists.
Wangtuo Gorge: Here, the river surface is narrow or wide somewhere, and the waters flow slowly or rapidly at times. The riverside verdant trees and bamboos sway elegantly, and the white fog curling upwards from hot springs in the distance can be seen clearly.
Lizhi Gorge: The entrance of Lizh Gorge seems as narrow as a door. The mountain peaks along the river, wreathed by fog and mist, appear and disappear occasionally and mysteriously. Look, the grotesque naked rock-climbing roots and rattans look quite like the stripes of Picasso’s picture, don’t they?
Other scenic spots: The scenic spots as follows are rocks or hills, which get their names for their true-to-life shapes: Ox Liver, Horse Lung, Fire Stone, Heavenly Fish Pond, Heavenly Door Stone, Straw Hat Stone, Sea-Calming Needle, Beauty Hill, Flower and Fruit Hill, Spirit Tablet of Man King, Censer Stone, White Thread Lump, etc.
Historical legend:
According to legend, in the Period of Three Kingdoms (220-280), “Man King” Menghuo, a local minority chieftain, had been captured and released for seven times respectively by Zhuge Liang (a famous military counselor of the Shu Kingdom) near Gong Beach of Wujiang River before he claimed obedience to the Shu Kingdom. He was later appointed as a senior official to strengthen national solidarity and to promote the economic and cultural development of the minority area. Later generations made his statue in a cave (now known as “Man King Cave”) opposite Gong Beach for worship and commemoration, and set the fifteenth day of the first lunar month every year as Worshipping “Man King” Day.
Surrounding scenic spots:
Mayang River Nature Reserve: Mayang River Nature Reserve covers more than 4,000 hectares of primeval forest, where live many species of rare and precious plants and animals, of which, black-leaf apes under state first-class protection top those elsewhere in China either in number or in distribution density.
The typical karst landform here has given birth to beautiful natural landscape. The well-known Zhujia Cave located in the nature reserve is a typical example. With a path connecting the entrance and the end, the main cave stretches as long as five kilometers, grotesque stalagmites and stalactites protruding here and there. The first cave hall, 24 meters tall, covers an area of over 1,100 square kilometers. On the top of the hall there is a natural skylight circled by green bamboos.
Cat Hill: There is a natural stone forest on the mountain peak about 1.5 kilometers southwest of Yanhe County. Stepping into the stone forest, you will find as if you were in a wonderland, intoxicated by different shapes of immortal stones. At the entrance of the stone forest stands a 30-meter-high hill composed of three piling-up huge rocks, towering over other hills remarkably. Seen in the distance, it was like a cat pronating on a stone pedestal, watching alertly the Cat Beach of Wujiang River. Interestingly, behind the cat there is a big curving cypress, swaying to and fro in the breeze like its tail.
Hongdu Township: It is a gorge township full of modern city’s flavor.
Aqiongnanzong Temple is a monastery of Ningma denomination of Tibetan Buddhism. It is a historic site where three eminent monks from Tibet coming here to practice Buddhism and do missionary work have inhabited. In the period of Zangpulangdamamie Buddha, Tubo, the middle period of the 9th century, the three eminent monks come here. It is more than 1100 years up to now. Here, the sticking up peaks, the peculiar terrain of mountains, verdant woods, and the prattling spring water form a magnificent scenery. Nanzong Peak stands tall and upright to the northeast of the temple. It is lofty, precipitous, queer, and unique as Hua Mountain. To the north of Nanzong Peak, there is a stone-stepped mountain path which is the only way to the peak. Most of the path is cut from the cliff. The mountain path runs through the cliffs slantly. Some part of it almost runs through cliffs vertically, and is as precipitous and dangerous as climbing scaling ladder. Climbed to the peak by the stone path, you may see an ancient temple smothered with green pines. It is made up of five small grottoes. Some of them are naturally formed, while the others are cut. After being repaired, the grotto doors with upturned eaves are mountain bounded, refined, quiet, and beautiful.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/
