Hanshan Temple is located in the town of Fengqiao (Maple Bridge) in the west outskirts of Suzhou, only one kilometer west of the Lingering Garden. It was first built in the Liang Dynasty (502-557) as Miaoli Tayuan (Garden of Pagodas). During the Tang Dynasty (618-907), a famous monk named Hanshan stayed in the temple, which was later renamed by his name. The temple was once one of the 10 most famous temples in China. Zhang Ji, a famous Tang-dynasty poet, wrote the poem “A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge,” which, consequently, made the temple even more popular nationwide.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

It used to be the garden of Zhou Fu, a general satrap in Qing Dynasty. Since there are rockeries, narrow paths, big rocks, clear lakes, deep valleys, winding rivulets, and zigzag stone roads, it is called Little Pangu Garden and “gu” means “valley”. Now Little Pangu Garden has become arrest house in Yangzhou. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful scenery in the garden, and appreciate bright moon at night if you accommodate in the garden. The quiet and peaceful environment will make you reluctant to leave. Those who do not spend night in the garden can also visit it at night. Little Pangu Garden has its unique characteristics among all gardens in Yangzhou. Compared with Geyuan Garden and Heyuan Garden, it accounts less land area, and has fewer constructions, rocks, and stones; moreover, it features the compact lay out of its components; it is smaller, but more impressive and spectacular. The lakes, ponds, rocks, stones, towers, and pavilions are dotted in an artistic manner; sometimes they emphasizes deepness and craggedness and sometimes they focus on unevenness and openness; sharp contrast and varied rhythm of the lay out of the garden are fully demonstrated in the limited space. All components here are adjusted and arranged according to natural conditions, for which the flexibility of design and the grandeur of garden are sufficiently delivered. Therefore tourists would be deeply impressed by the scenery which affords for thought. This is the unique point of the garden beyond comparison.

Little Pangu Garden could be further divided into two parts. A wall of flowers separates the courtyard into two smaller ones. There are artificial rocs, mounts, and lakes at one side of the wall while green trees and flowers at the other side of it. One smaller yard is characterized by exquisite pavilions and towers, and the other yard features emerald green plants; they respectively deliver the feeling of quiet and openness, density and sparseness, simplicity and elegance; they are just adding radiance and glamour to and bring out the best of each other. That is also the supreme technique on the lay out of gardening. The rockeries in Little Pangu Garden stand majestically and precipitously, and they were once called Nine Lion Painting Mount. It is said that when it snows heavily, the painting of the nine lions would appear vividly while when it is fine the picture is not clear. The shape of lions on the rocks should be appreciated from the angle of artistic concept and vigor and then its verve could be spot and experienced. The Nine Lion Painting Mount is characterized by both exquisiteness and grandeur; there are ridges and peaks overlapping with each other, narrow mountain paths, deep valley under cliffs, and clear rivulets. Caves in the garden are quiet, broad, and bright. There are chess tables in them. The top of the mountain is flat and decorated with pavilions. Taking an overlook in the pavilion, the fantastic scenery in the garden would be fully covered in your view field. Besides there are stone bridges over lakes, a try square flower hall, and terraces. They are lain out in a compact way. Between the cave and the precipitous cliff stands a rock wall named “the Depth of Water and Clouds”. There is no wood bridge over the lake but connected rocks for tourists to walk on. Using connected rocks as bridge is called Zhuanbu or Bushi. In Yangzhou Painting Record, it was named “yuelue”. Walking out of the cave, stepping on yuelue, and passing by the stone wall, you will fully experience the romance of staying in the open nature. According to gardening experts, large gardens are suitable for recreation by taking activities while smaller ones are good for scenery appreciation. You can enjoy the gentle wind beside a pavilion, or counting swimming fish in front of railings, or strolling on the top of mounts or in corridors, or paling chessmen, or enjoying the cool weather while lying against a tower. Therefore tourists can enjoy to their heart content in the Little Pangu Garden.
Also called Wutong Alley in the Qin Dynasty, it was a birthplace of the Conqueror Xiang Yu, the leader of the insurgents in the Han Dynasty, an outstanding military commander without political expertise. The ancestors erected a tablet in memory of him. In 1935, Yingfeng pavilion and Huaian pavilion were built. Covering an area of 0.5 hectare, the Native Place of Xiang Yu is surrounded by 400 meters long courtyard wall made of green bricks. From South to north, the building complex consists of a stone memorial gateway, gate, Yingfeng pavilion, Xiang Yu memorial hall and Yuji memorial hall.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

All the sculptures are narrowly distributed in the southwest corner of the mountain. They are carved in relief along the slope. The sculptures are scattered on the khaki cliff, which is 17 meters long and 8 meters high. There are more than 100 human figures in all, of which the large ones have the same size as life and small ones are only 10 centimeters high. Some stand, some sit, some jump ad some lie on the back. They have rich images with varied expressions. Through the appraisal of experts, the statue was carved in the year 170 during the late East Han Dynasty, which is 200 years earlier than Duhuang Mogao Cave built in the second year of Jianyuan’ period(336). It is the earliest Buddhist sculpture on the cliff that has been found in China up to now.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

The Wanshan Tower rises from the elbow of the ancient canal and stretches up into the sky. Grand, exotic and stately, it stands loftily there. Therefore, it is also reputed as “Heavenly Tower”. The Wanshan Tower is a brick-structured pavilion style tower with wooden eaves in Zhejiang and Jiangsu or whereabouts. It is a simple seven-storied building with eight corners. The tower is built all of bricks storey upon storey with wooden beam erection in each room. The upper floor is folded up storey upon storey in a curved course for tourists to climb up the tower and overlook the sceneries. The rooms of the tower are square. The interior walls of the upper and lower rooms intersect at an angle of 45 degrees and overlap in the shape of octagon. Each room has pot doors on four faces. The door has diaphragmatic surfaces, which intersect and set off against each other. Piled up with several layers of bricks, the eaves of the tower have wooden rafters stretching out below, and are supported by ridges and arches and hung with big bells, which fully reflects the architectural style of ancient towers in the Ming Dynasty.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

It is made by superimposing waterfall, steep cliffs and exotic stones. More than two hundred years ago, Yuwan is merely an island which extends from the ranges of Yuntai Mountain to the sea. Sometimes there are fishing boats riding at anchor there. In the “Records of the Yuntai Mountain” of the Ming Dynasty, “Yuwan Dragon Pool” is the view that draws water among the thirty six sceneries of Yuntain Mountain. It is seldom explored due to steep and dangerous paths. The tour of Yuwan follows the magistral line of “three pools, one cave and three puddles”, namely, Three Dragons Pool, Two Dragons Pool, Old Dragon Pool, Hidden Dragon Pool, Green Water Puddle, Clear Water Puddle and Yellow Water Puddle. Of them, the Old Dragon Pool has the most charming appearance. The waterfall has a drop of more than 40 meters, which is at the elbow of tourists when they arrive there.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/

The lake of the Li Garden ripples gently and green hills stand in the distance. Long corridors, embankment, arbors, pavilions in the garden are all exquisitely engraved with elegant and colored drawing. When lounging around the garden especially in spring, you will have a tender love for it.
The present Li Garden is divided into four tourist and sightseeing area, namely, artificial hills covered with green vegetation, spring morning on the south embankment, long corridor with a collection of sightseeing scenes, and layers of waves with double images.
In the “artificial hilled covered with green vegetation’s”, there are boundless spring sceneries in the Sifang Pavilion; the path winds beside the water pavilion; take the lotus boat and you will “keep withering lotus and listen to the rain”; paying a visit to the fish bond can also make you “jump through the dragon gate and get the breaks”; the variation of Yiren Rock and the luxuriant woods and trimmed bamboos of Guiyun Peak will make you feel as if traveling in the universe.
The long corridor of one-thousand steps in the “long corridor with a collection of sightseeing scenes” heaves high and low with zigzags. It is deep and shifty with rich gradation as if picture scrolls of “mountain rays shining on the threshold and water surrounding the corridor”. The landscape in the long corridor is also quite varied from the doors and windows with the exquisite engravings to water platform with red flowers and green trees, all revealing the charm and gentleness of the Li Garden.
As the “layers of waves with double images” shows, it is the best spot to appreciate water in the garden. Ban Pavilion, Lvyi Pavilion, Chunqiu Pavilion and Shuimiao Pavilion, etc all center on water and demonstrate the graceful flavor of the lake water in the Li Garden at different levels. In the area of “spring morning on the south embankment”, you can have a thorough appreciation of the spring scenery and smell the fragrance of flowers carefully. The Sifang Pavilion in the area can be called “of unique ingenuity” as the four identical pavilions built around the waters show the beautiful sight of the Li Garden with the construction form of “not fearing conformity but leaping out of conformity”. Different seasonal flowers and trees are planted according to the color of flowers and seasons around every pavilion. The spring pavilion of “Yihong” is planted with plum trees, the summer pavilion of “Dicui” planted with dogbanes, the autumn pavilion of “Zuihuang” planted with sweet-scented osmanthus, and the winter pavilion of “Yinba” planted with calyx canthus. Standing in one of the pavilions, you will see the other three ones, which can be called “four seasons overlapping with boundless beauty”
Changsha Beach is wealthy in clam called “the freshest seafood in the world”. Being a well-choice for tribute ever since Tang dynasty, it’s fresh and delicious, famous both at home and abroad. In recent years, beach disco, a new and unique entertainment, is formed here. By bullock cart or tractor, tourists are sent to the sea where they can tread on the endless beach with their naked feet, which forms a scene of disco dancing while viewing far away. Wild clams all over the vast sands hidden under the sand, out of pressure while being trodden on they will move up. With the adding of pressure from the treading, they will move up little by little and finally appear on the sand At that time it is a piece of cake for you to catch then. After an hour with this method, you can harvest several jin (a weight unit), and get a delicious dish on your table.
Here, watching the sun rising above the sea level, fishing at the seaside or flying kite on the beach are at your free will. The most important is that you can taste dozens of seafood, including clam, yellow mud snail, sand crab, sea anemone and so on.
We uses YouTube API Services. https://www.worldtraveldb.com/youtubes-terms-of-service/
